Swindon are the 2012 Elite League champions after a dream night at Poole in the Grand Final.

 

The Robins were crowned the kings of speedway for the first time since 1967 after completely outriding the Pirates on their own track.

 

 

Skipper Hans Andersen, David Lampart, Troy Batchelor, Simon Stead, Nick Morris, Seb Alden & top points scorer Peter Kildemand all contributed, as the Robins stunned the home crowd with a display Alun Rossiter described as 'awesome!'

 

"They were heroes out there," an emotional Rossiter said, as his team built on their seven-point first leg lead to win with three heats to go.

 

"I can't tell you how good I feel right now. Amazing. This is truly a great night in the history of Swindon speedway..

 

"This one's for Leigh!"
